The Amador County Community Band is comprised of volunteer musiciansfrom Amador and surrounding counties. The Band was formed on Septemebr10, 2001, and is conducted by Ernest Kapphahn, with associateconducters Irv Gidding and Chris Tootle. The Band meets year-round onMonday nights at the Amador High School band room in Sutter Creek.There are no auditions and no one is compensated for playing orconducting.

The Band plays a Spring, a Fall, and aChristmas concert each year in addition to supporting local communityevents and festivals. One performance of each concert is performed forseniors at the Amador Senior Center. All performances are withoutadmission charge. The Band is supported by donations obtained duringThe March on the Kitty, played at each performance. The Band plays awide variety of music, but enjoys Broadway medleys and classic marchesthe most.
