The Association helps make it possible for the band members, who give freely of their time and talents, to bring quality music to the community. When we travel, we bring with us good will through the international language of music.



About SVSBA:
 

  • Established in 1983 by Dr. Lester E. Lehr.
  • Open to anyone interested in symphonic band music.
  • Organizes ensembles for community concert needs.
  • Sponsors an annual symphonic band festival in Carmichael.
  • Provides money to support community concert needs.
  • Sponsors an annual youth solo artist scholarship.
  • Internationally recognized.
  • Band members are adults of all ages, from twenties to seniors. All are encouraged to join and play.
  • Musicians represent a cross-section of the community - many professions are represented.

Carmichael Park has established a summer concert series with concerts from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday evenings.
